Frequently Asked Questions

To better serve our customers, we compiled a list of frequently asked questions. This list is put together to assist you in making the most appropriate promotional decisions for your company.

Q. How do I get my logo on a golf ball?

A.  Simply provide us with your logo in one of the following four forms:
  1. Computer generated artwork - Your logo in the form of an Adobe Illustrator 5.0-10.0 EPS file, Corel Draw, Freehand, High Resolution BMP, JPEG, or Kodak Photo CD. Macintosh PICT, EPS, PCX, PhotoShop or TIFF may be acceptable. These can be sent to us on a disk or via email at artwork@nsprom.com.

  2. Camera ready color separated artwork - Your artwork with a high black and white contrast at 300% of actual print size, has no grays, is crisp, sharp and needs no further touchup, design, color separation or rearranging of the logo. We reduce your artwork at no charge to maximize the imprint area.

  3. Four color Process - The only art acceptable for a Four Color Process Imprint without incurring additional art charges above the standard $35.00 is a digital file. Art received in any other format will incur a fee of $250.00 to create the films. Film positives cannot be accepted.

  4. Business stationery - Your color logo from a business card, letterhead, brochure, etc. We will match the colors of the stationery you provide.  Additional charges may apply.

There is a one-time art charge of $35.00 for each logo. All artwork is retained for 24 months from the date of last order.

 

Q. How do I send you my logo?

A. To print your order, simply provide us with your logo or artwork in any one of the following four forms:
  1. Computer Generated Digital File:
    Send us your digital vector artwork, via email (artwork@nsprom.com), or through our secure online upload feature which can be accepted from the following programs:
    • Preferred: Adobe Illustrator .eps (pc or mac) with type converted to outlines.
    • Corel Draw files with type converted to outlines.
    • Freehand
  2. High Resolution Bitmap files:  BMP, JPG, Macintosh PICT, EPS, PCX, Kodak Photo CD, Photoshop or TIFF.
  3. Website: we can copy your logo from your website.
  4. Color Business stationery- we can extract your logo from your color letterhead, business card, brochure, etc. Additional charges may apply.

Our graphic artists will resize your digital files and logos to fit in the 7/8" to 1" imprint area on the golf ball at no extra charge.

We will then provide you with a email proof in the form of an Adobe Acrobat Reader .pdf file of your logo prior to printing for your review.

 

Q. What size will my logo be imprinted on my golf balls? 

A. Large detailed logos look best at 7/8" diameter. Rectangular logos will not look as big as circular or square shaped logos. An imprint will appear larger if it is stacked on more than one line.
 

Q. What are my options if I do not have a logo?

A. For straight-line copy, we can imprint up to 15 characters on four lines. We can imprint in any font, and with any color you choose.

 

Q. What is the Pantone Matching System (PMS) and why do I need to include this information on my order?

A. The Pantone Matching System is a universal color recipe for each color used in the imprinting industry to ensure the exact shade of each color. By including the PMS color and number with your order, we can place the exact colors you want on your golf ball. At Northstar Promotions we match any PMS color requirement at no extra charge.

 

Q. How can I see exactly how my logo will look before my order is printed?

A. Northstar Promotions has three ways for you to see exactly how your logo will appear on your golf balls before your order is printed: Fax Proofs, Email Proofs and Spec Samples.

Fax Proofs and Spec Samples provide you with a great way to verify that the imprint that we create for your golf balls meets your exact specifications before your order is printed.

  • Fax Proof - We will fax you a copy of your logo at its exact size for you to see first hand the size, layout, spelling, et cetera.

    • Fax Proofs add one to two days to the production schedule for your order.

    • Fax Proofs are free of charge. Please provide a fax number with your order.

  • Email Proof - We will email you a copy of your logo at its exact size for you to see first hand the size, layout, spelling, et cetera. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 to view your email proof.

    • Email Proofs add one to two days to the production schedule for your order.

    • Email Proofs are free of charge. Please provide an email address with your order.

  • Spec Samples - We will print your logo on one golf ball and ship it to you via UPS overnight delivery. This Spec Sample will show you exactly how your logo will appear on your favorite golf ball.

    • Spec Samples add Four to Seven days to the production schedule for your order.

    • Spec Samples are $95.00.

 

Q. How do I place an order? 

A. Ordering imprinted golf products is simple.

  1. Online
    Use our online product catalog to securely place your order and send us your logo for imprinting.

    Artwork
    - Computer generated artwork, camera ready artwork or Four Color Process artwork. You may may mail your artwork to the address below. Send computer generated artwork to us at artwork@nsprom.com. (Please include Pantone Matching System color numbers if available with email).

Payment - in the form of a business check (United States institution only), Money Order, MasterCard, Visa.
